Protect your loved ones. Defend them against prying eyes.
Location Defender protects your privacy by removing geo-location information embedded within your pictures.
Whenever you take a picture with your phone’s camera, it uses the built-in Global Positioning Satellite hardware to embed the coordinates of your current location into the photo itself. This is fine if you wish to view your pictures on a map later, say to visually plot your 10-day European summer vacation.
But if you plan to email these photos to a friend, upload them to the Internet, or share them on Facebook, you may not want to include this information. Anyone viewing these pictures can easily read the location information. Clicking a picture you took at your child’s school, for example, would reveal the exact location of her school. Would you want predators or unsavory strangers to know your daughter’s exact movements, her favorite park, ice cream shop, even the exact location of her bedroom? This sensitive information remains embedded within each picture when it is forwarded to friends, family and grandparents through email, so it is always available regardless of who uploads them.
Your only protection is to remove this embedded information BEFORE the picture leaves your device.
Location Defender quickly scans the pictures on your device for embedded location information. If your pictures do contain this information and you would like to remove it before sharing the files, Location Defender can create copies of the photos you choose after stripping out the sensitive location information. Your original photos are left untouched on the device.
